Everything about fashion week in NYC I love. The celebrities, shoes, outfits, runway shows, and the craziness of Betsy Johnson doing a split on the runway. This however........I do not approve of. Yeah you can say that it is great that they put Minaj next to Wintour at the Carolina Herrera show but this just doesn't work. Wintour looks pretty pissed off also that they stuck Minaj, as great as a female mc as she is, next to her.

I've been up at Colorado State University for about two weeks now and its an incredible school but I feel very lost in the crowd. I have met some great people but for the most part I'm an uber shut in. Yeah I go to parties however I don't drink. Its very difficult to have a normal conversation with a drunk person because they like to tell you their entire life story. I am also very disappointed with the guys here. Yeah some of them are extrememly hot but they don't approach you or have the confidence like guys in nightclubs. Oh well, at least my fashion classes are very stimulating.

If you have never heard of Nicki Minaj I'm going to tell you up front that you have been living under a rock for the past couple of years. Most people are use to this female MC as a crazy person who loves to combin futuristic hard looks with bright eye catching colors. Her outfit for the 2011 VMA's is no exception. At least in my personal opinion she looks like a candy crazied kid who is playing dress up for an anime convention as a nurse in an anime comic book that hasn't been able to let go of her inner child (note the plushy stuffed animal, wtf is that plushy thing?) even though this kid is a nurse. The hair and eye makeup is the usual Nicki Minaj but I feel like she was trying to hard with this outfit to be like Gaga, along with Katy Perry who had a yellow cube upon her head. It was very amusing to see Katy try and walk perfectly in order for the cube of cheese not to fall off her head.

One of my favorite vintage, leather glove, jewelry spilling out of boxes store in Colorado. Everytime I have walked past this store on either the 16th street mall or in Park Meadows I always say to myself "I really want a tutu from here" So yesterday I bought one, thanks to all the graduation money I recieved. This Thursday, Nov 18, I went to the Denver Public Library to do my internship (I intern for Tricia Hoke) where 11 local designers showcased six different looks. This year the show's judging panel featured "Project Runway" finalist Mondo Guerra, "Shear Genius" contestant Charlie Price, and 5280's fashion editor Georgia Alexia Benjou. The show's theme was Slideshow, prmoting lots of theatrical and dynamically whimsical designs that ranged in season from summer to winter.

Monday was 70's (I refused to dress up), Tuesday was Hip-hop, Wednesday was preppy, Thursday was superhero day, and Friday is blue and gold day (school colors). Denver designer Melissa May has a following for her girly dresses, feminine fabrics and winsome designs. She'll show more than 20 new looks for spring 2011 at a benefit show Saturday at the Historic Elitch Carousel Pavilion, West 38th Avenue and Tennyson Street. My friend Val invited me to be her model for her school's final project (Aveda Hair Salon). I was uber excited that she chose me and I really liked how this picture turned out. Val's idea for my hair was making it look like it was windswept. For the makeup she put on bright yellow taxi cab looking eyeshadow with a dark rose colored lip. For lunch it was really funny walking out on the 16th street mall with my hair like this. Everyone just stares at you like your from another planet and I'm not tall at all so it felt even more ackward.

This Friday I went to help out Tricia (my internship person) with the Fashion Flash Mob in front of the Denver Art Museum. The mob consisted of local designers from Colorado that were able to sponsor their clothes and designs on their models. The models also had to carry a sign with them that said the name of their designers' store and with the words "designed in Colorado."

The best part of the evening was that I got to meet one of the contestants on Project Runway this season. Mondo Guerra is from Colorado and has been designing since 1999 after winning a contest and getting a job out of it. You can read more about Mondo here

I've been having such a whirlwind of a week that I haven't been able to blog or put together a decent outfit. Luckily, the Gods smiled down upon me and delt me a good hand. I got an internship with a local designer in Denver. I got a pair of peep toe Dolce Vita heels for less than a 100$, I made a feather headband and web bracelet, ordered my fox tail keychain (amen Ebay), and I got to do a photoshoot with my friend, Val.

To make this fun body top first either buy a pair of stockings or grab an old pair. Cut straight across the middle of the crotch (about half way in). Even though I love visiting other states it feels good to be back home (sometimes) and not have to live out of a suitcase. My first stop was Virginia where I went to visit Virginia Commonwealth University. My family then went from Richmond to Philly where we walked around the Philadelphia University. After walking around that campus for about an hour in 100 degree weather we then rode in the car for about another 4 hours to visit my grandma on Long Island. We also went to the best city in the U.S. a.k.a. NYC. In NYC I got to visit F.I.T.

Ray-Ban is creating six new looks for its iconic Aviator eyewear.

“The goal is to establish once again the edginess of the brand, and continue a constant dialogue with our consumers,” said Sara Beneventi, global brand manager for Ray-Ban. “Lifestyle trends continue to take [inspiration] from old looks [and] 2010, more than ever, is the right year to relaunch the Aviator.”

The 60-year-old Aviator’s classic frame will be joined by six collections: the Ray-Ban Craft, Road Spirit, Tech, Titanium, Metal Glide and the limited edition Ultra Gold.

The Metal Glide and Road Spirit will offer frame colors such as blue, red, yellow and fuchsia. The Tech lenses consist of a new carbon fiber, the Titanium is crafted of milled titanium and the Ultra Gold features a mix of titanium, beta-titanium and gold.

The collections will retail from $139 for the classic Aviator to $495 for the Ultra Gold collection, and will be available in the U.S. in June.

“There has been a total revision of shape, material and colors,” Beneventi said. “The Aviator exemplifies all the edginess of the brand. It’s a perfect summary of how we see Ray-Ban.”

The brand gave similar treatment to the Wayfarer frame — red and white frames were introduced — in 2006 and to the Clubmaster, which was relaunched two years later with seven additional colors.

The collections will be celebrated tonight during a concert at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, headlined by Iggy & the Stooges and featuring The Virgins and Free Energy.

The concert will be followed by a similar event in London on May 26 featuring the New York Dolls, the Plastiscines, The Big Pink and We Are Scientists.

The musicians have also decorated the lenses of Aviators in a collaboration with Ray-Ban. The results range from scribbles to sketches and will be on display at the Brooklyn concert and in select retail doors, but will not be available for sale.

Here it is. My beautiful BCBG dress for prom. It arrived today and I literally ran up my driveway to go try it on. I was very worried at first it would not fit because I'm usually a size 0 in dresses and this one is size 2 and strapless. Luckily it fit me like a glove, as they say. Who says, I have no idea.

like this ring! I went to see Alice in Wonderland yesterday with my mom, and I'm sorry to say but I was really disapointed with the movie. Lucky after the movie I went to Forever 21 and found this ring (cross ring), which was the last one in the ring bin. However my night was ruined again, because I had 3 items I wanted to purchase but these two girls bought $184.00 worth of clothes and they took 20 minutes. But then my night got better when I went home and watched Modern Family with my family.

Terribly sorry for the lack of posts. Since it was snowing for five days straight my mood went downhill and all I wanted to do was crawl in a corner. But now the sun is shining and it is a beautiful day. We had an assembly at school where kids were chosen to pie their teachers in the face and it was fantastic!
